We are proud to announce that our Sheffield Private Client team has once again been named Wills & Probate Team of the Year at the 2026 Sheffield Law Society Awards.
The accolade was presented at this year’s Yorkshire Law Banquet, held in Sheffield on 27 February.
Josh Fenton‑Hawkes, Head of Wills & Probate – Sheffield, expressed his excitement about the recognition.
“Being acknowledged for a second year is a tremendous achievement. Our department has expanded significantly since Bell & Buxton's merger with Sills & Betteridge and it’s wonderful to see the team’s dedication to our clients recognised on such a prominent stage. As a Sheffield firm, we’re incredibly proud to be honoured in this way, and it was inspiring to celebrate alongside so many outstanding legal professionals from across the region.”
Josh also highlighted the firm’s evolving use of technology.
“The pace of change in legal IT is remarkable, and our digital‑first approach is becoming increasingly important. We’ve created a specialist departmental IT Committee, supported by our IT Director, and I’m pleased to be part of it. My background in the Wills & Probate field is helping us develop tailored IT tools that enhance efficiency and elevate client service.”
Partner Matthew Rodgers praised both Josh and the wider team for their achievements since the merger.
“Josh has shown exceptional leadership in refining processes and supporting his team, but ultimately, it’s the team’s personal and compassionate approach to client care that sets them apart. Much of our work is driven by our reputation, and this award is a clear reflection of the team’s commitment to the people we serve. Being shortlisted in four categories – Commercial Property, Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Family Law, and Wills & Probate – was a remarkable milestone for our newly merged firm, and the team thoroughly enjoyed celebrating at the Yorkshire Law Banquet.”
